A mystery Russian has bought a £6million penthouse in Holborn despite only having had a virtual video tour due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The sale of the three-bedroom apartment at the Lincoln Square development near Lincoln’s Inn Fields was conducted ‘virtually’ in one of the biggest transactions of its kind during lockdown.
Tom Hawkins, from Knight Frank, which handled the sale, said the initial inquiry came in mid-April and was followed by several online viewings before the deal was completed this month.

The buyer was then given a ‘walking tour’ of the apartment by an agent holding a camera.
Mr Hawkins told Homes&Property: ‘The buyer is very happy and is travelling across to collect the key as soon as it is possible. People now seem prepared to commit on the back of tailored videos.
‘This buyer wanted to see inside a particular cupboard for example, and we were able to do that.’
