Apple fixes three-hour service outages on iCloud, Apple TV, Apple Music and other apps after engineers rushed to repair the problems
- Problems were reported around 8pm EST Tuesday across several services
- Apple engineers restored service on the downed systems by 11pm EST
- It remains unclear what has caused the problems reported in the US and Europe
Apple suffered several hours of widespread outages across their systems on Tuesday night, affecting iCloud, the App Store and Apple TV, among other services.
It was not clear what was causing the disruption, first reported around 8pm EST on Tuesday.
By around 11pm, the problems appeared to have been fixed.
Apple’s dashboard, showing the status of their services, was alight during the three hour window with red warning signs, indicating outages.

Apple TV, Apple Arcade, Apple Books, Apple TV, iCloud and iTunes were just some of the services affected.
On the site, Apple said: ‘Users are experiencing a problem with this service. We are investigating and will update the status as more information becomes available.’
Apple is not the only company to experience services outages lately.
Many Microsoft services were affected by a multi-hour outage on Monday, and there was a multi-state 911 outage on Monday as well.
