  • Two burglars wearing masks entered a house in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire
  • They broke into property and assaulted a man inside, stealing phone and cash 
  • Victim described the two men, along with masks, after assault on October 23

A police force has been mocked after issuing e-fits of suspects who broke into a house wearing face masks.  

Two burglars wearing masks covering their mouths and noses entered a property in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire and assaulted the home owner.

The victim has managed to describe the two men, along with the masks, after the attack on October 23, and E-fits have been released.

The intruders, wearing masks and black gloves, broke into the property at around 10am.

They assaulted a man inside the home and stole his phone and money in what is being described as a ‘targeted attack’.   

Police want to identify the men and have released two E-fit images of the suspects have been created following the incident.

They were both of heavy build, and one was wearing a hi-viz vest. The other a black jacket with a black flat cap.

One of the suspects was described as wearing distinctive black framed glasses with an accent that is not local to the area.

A Humberside Police spokesman said: ‘We would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be a targeted attack with no wider risk to the community.

‘If you are able to ID either of these people or have any dash-cam footage from around the time and location, please call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 104 of 23 October.

‘Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers (the independent charity) on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous. You could claim a reward for the information you provide.’
