Vogue Williams FLOUTS Tier 4 rules as she is spotted in St. Barts with son Theodore

Vogue Williams FLOUTS Tier 4 travel rules as she flies to St. Barts with her family days after expressing sadness at cancelled Christmas plans

  • Tier 4 restrictions came into force for London and the south east on December 20, the same date that Vogue was seen stepping out in the capital
  • The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all but essential travel to St Martin and St. Barts
  • You can only travel abroad when you have a legally permitted reason to do so, with travel exceptions including work, education and childcare
  • Vogue is a frequent visitor to St. Barts as her husband Spencer Matthews’ parents own the five-star hotel, Eden Rock, on the island
  • An active social media user, the star has, thus far, made no mention of her festive trip on Instagram – but has bemoaned having a ‘strange’ Christmas

Vogue Williams has flouted Tier 4 rules by flying to St. Barts for a family holiday, eight days after London was plunged into the new restrictions.

The presenter, 35 – who lives in Battersea, London, with husband Spencer Matthews and their two children – looked happy as she enjoyed a beach jog in the French Caribbean, despite rules advising against all but essential travel.

Travel abroad for leisure is banned under Tier 4 guidelines. Travel exceptions are only allowed for reasons such as work, education and childcare.

Vogue was last spotted in London hours after the capital entered into Tier 4 restrictions on Sunday, December 20.

The outing comes little over a week since Vogue lamented the new restrictions – and expressed her sadness that she would not make it home to Ireland for Christmas

The star showcased her taut midriff in a bright orange crop-top paired with navy shorts that displayed her honed legs as she ran down the beach with a pal.

She wore her caramel tresses in a high bun and accessorised with trendy shades.

Vogue was accompanied by a shirtless pal as she got her morning exercise in, with son Theodore, two, and mother-in-law Jane Matthews watching on.

An active social media user, the star has thus far, made no mention of her trip on Instagram.

Vogue’s husband Spencer and their daughter Gigi, five months, were not seen at the beach.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, Vogue wrote: ‘Feeling so sad for those who can’t spend Christmas with family. Also so sad for those with businesses having to close again.’

‘I hope everyone can still enjoy themselves whatever they do. I wonder if I’ll ever get back to Ireland. I was meant to be there until yesterday but had to cancel again. Stay positive everyone,’ she wrote alongisde a crying emoji.

Vogue is based in Battersea, London, with her husband Spencer Matthews, 32, and their two children Theodore, two, and Gigi, five months, with her family are still over in Ireland, where she also owns a home.

It comes amid warnings England could be plunged into ‘Tier 5’ restrictions within days after scientists were said to have advised Boris Johnson to impose tougher measures than those in November’s lockdown – with secondary schools, pubs and non-essential shops shut.

Although it is unclear if the new measures will be called ‘Tier 5’, SAGE is thought to have warned the Prime Minister that they must be tougher than the Tier 4 restrictions currently in place.

A scientist advising the Government’s top scientists warned today that national restrictions must be imposed to prevent a ‘catastrophe’ in January and February, and said the Government should act ‘early’.

It could become clear whether Tier 4 is putting the brakes on the spread of the virus within days, because it can take up to two weeks for someone who has been infected to develop symptoms and then get a Covid-19 test. But the Christmas break may mean it takes longer for the tiers impact to become clear.

The spread of the virus is being driven by a mutant strain, scientists have said, which is thought to be at least 50 per cent more infectious than other strains.
