Golden Globe Awards 2021 red carpet arrivals

Salma Hayek, Margot Robbie, Renee Zellweger and Gal Gadot led the way as stars attended the socially-distanced  78th Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Sunday night.

Stars of the silver and small screen attended the ceremony both in person and from home, as the storied ceremony finally got into full swing, after being delayed by almost two months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Crown swept the television drama categories and Nomadland earned the top honor in film, but the most shocking moment of the night came when Andra Day won best actress at the first ever bi-coastal awards.

The awards had a different format than any other year due to the pandemic; as hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehloer hosted the show on different sides of the US with a social distanced audience made up of first responders.

While some celebrities were at the awards ceremony in person as presenters, most watched from their homes, sharing images of their gowns and tuxedos from insides their homes or gardens.

Stars of the Crown Olivia Coleman, Gillian Anderson, Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor and The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy all showcased their awards looks from their virtual locations, before sweeping the board in their categories.

Attending the ceremony in person, Salma, 54, dazzled in a crimson Alexander McQueen gown that featured a cinched waist and a one-shoulder detail and added a Harry Winston diamond brooch along the neckline.

Salma sported pale pink polished nails with her dark tresses center parted and in waves, while also wearing wore lipstick with rosy blush on her cheeks beneath defined brows.

Black and white:  Emma Corrin, 25, who beat her co-star Olivia Coleman to the Best Television Actress in a Drama Series gong, looked seriously stylish in a velvet dress with a dramatic white collar

Chic: Meanwhile her on-screen husband Josh, who won Best Actor on a Drama Series for his take on Prince Charles, oozed style in a white shirt and ivory trousers, which he styled with a loose tie and black jacket

Breathtaking: Despite attending virtually, Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series winner Anya Taylor-Joy, 24, brought undeniable glamour to the ceremony in two incredible looks

Such a beauty: Salma sported pale pink polished nails with her dark tresses center parted and in waves, while also wearing wore lipstick with rosy blush on her cheeks beneath defined brows

Margot, 30, wowed in a stunning long sleeved black and white printed crepe de chine Chanel gown, which had cut-out detailing as well as a thigh-slit.

The Wolf Of Wall Street and I, Tonya actress paired the patterned number with a Chanel belt and handbag, adding delicate diamond earrings.

She styled her shoulder length hair in waves and opted for a deep side part. Margot painted her pout a coral red shade with the rest of her makeup kept minimal.

Despite attending virtually, Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series winner Anya Taylor-Joy, 24, brought undeniable glamour to the ceremony in two incredible looks.

The American-born, Argentine-British actress started off in a sparkling emerald green Dior dress with a dramatic neckline before slipping into a classic ivory design to accept her honor. 

Anya’s first look highlighted her slender figure, dipping low to reveal some delicate decolletage while thin straps revealed her toned arms and bare shoulders. 

The couture ensemble, which was styled by visionary Law Roach, amped up the drama with a matching jacket that billowed around the starlet elegantly.

After doing pre-awards press in green, Anya changed into outfit number two: a timeless strapless white satin number. 

Gal, 35, showcased her toned legs in a white thigh-length Givenchy dress that featured a sheer lace overlay in the same tone; the Wonder Woman star added a pendant necklace by Tiffany & Co. with stiletto heels and red lipstick.

The 51-year-old Judy actress styled her short hair loose and slightly wavy, keeping her makeup to a minimum; she finished off the chic look with a statement ring.

The cast of The Crown cut a chic display as they attended the ceremony virtually, including British stars Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor, who won big during the 78th annual awards. 

Diana actress Emma, 25, who beat her co-star Olivia Coleman to the Best Television Actress in a Drama Series gong, looked seriously stylish in a velvet dress with a dramatic white collar.

Meanwhile her on-screen husband Josh, who won Best Actor on a Drama Series for his take on Prince Charles, oozed style in a white shirt and ivory trousers, which he styled with a loose tie and black jacket.

The Golden Globe Awards honored the best in television of 2020, as well as film in 2020 and early 2021, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. 

Tina hosted from New York City’s Rainbow Room while Amy hosted from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. 

Other stars, like Amanda Seyfried donned her glamorous dress at a nearby hotel to watch and present an award during the show.

Shades of white: Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon (in Dior Men) arrived in black and white looks while Jane Fonda donned a look with silver accents; they all appeared in person 

Stand out: Bryce Dallas-Howard and Awkwafina chose unique frocks. Both appeared in person

Glam: Disney star Sofia Carson donned a cream and burgundy dress that featured a bow on one shoulder that attached to a cape that draped elegantly in front and behind her. She appeared in person

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon coordinated and black and white looks while Jane Fonda donned a white and silver accented suit.

Tiffany Haddish chose a strapless Alberta Ferretti gown with a deep v-neck detail; the silver frock was textured and grazed her pointed black heels.

The 41-year-old actress flashed a hint of cleavage in the skintight look, adding hoop earrings and a bronze clutch; the beauty sported platinum hair and shimmery eye makeup.

Stunning lady: Angela Bassett donned a dark purple Dolce & Gabana gown with featured details, showcasing one toned leg. She appeared in person 

Wow factor: Actress Zuri Hall showcased her incredibly toned midriff in a crimson bandeau top made of textured fabric with a matching ball gown skirt
