The nation is eagerly awaiting the hotly-anticipated finale of Line Of Duty on Sunday, in which fans are hoping the identity of the elusive ‘H’ will finally be unveiled.

Yet away from the show, Martin Compston’s real life in Las Vegas is a million miles away from the gritty world of AC-12 as he swaps nicking bent coppers for a relaxing life in the sunshine – because, as he puts it, you get more for your money in America.

The actor, 36, – who plays Steve Arnott in the hit BBC drama – relocated Stateside in 2019 with his American wife Tianna Flynn, their baby boy, and their pet pitbull King, where they snapped up a sprawling four-bed mansion in Nevada – which boasts a spa, and even a solar-heated swimming pool – for $420,000.

Martin and Tianna, who married in 2016 at Mar Hall, Renfrewshire, live two streets away from Tianna’s mother, and they set up in Vegas to put down roots after previously living in Los Angeles and London.

Martin and Tianna met in 2013 following the demise of his relationship with girlfriend of five years, Stacey McKelvie.

Actress Tianna hails from the US – and she and Martin met at the Hudson Hotel in LA, where she was working as a nightclub manager. She prefers to remain Stateside when Martin films in the UK.

The star recently said it makes sense when he travels for work for Tianna to be near her family, especially after welcoming their first child last year, whose name has not been revealed.

As well as his sunny Vegas home, Martin also has a place in Greenock in Scotland – his hometown, and he flits between the two – but says Greenock feels more like home to him.

He told Weekend Magazine: ‘We have a place in Greenock and a place in Vegas and, I’m going to sound like a p***k saying this, but I kind of see Greenock as home, and Vegas as a holiday home.’

The star splits his time between the two countries but has previously spoken about how much he loves their swimming pool in Vegas, telling The Sunday Post: ‘I love it. The weather is great, obviously, and compared to Los Angeles and London you get so much more for your money.

‘I’ve never been flash with anything. I’ve never really spent my money or liked fancy cars, so we saved to hopefully get a bit of a dream home.

‘I wanted to get a place with a pool. It’s an incredible feeling when you’re from Greenock and you can get your family over to stay and you’ve got a swimming pool out your back.’

The couple were keen to buy a house with a pool, and they lucked out with their mansion as it is not only heated it has a built-in Jacuzzi as well as the main swimming area.

The couple have often shared pictures while luxuriating in the pool, with their pooch King often joining them so that he can cool off in the water.

One such selfie shows that the pool has plenty of space around it for them to put sun loungers and have tables for guests if they are keen to enjoy an al-fresco dinner with their loved ones.

That’s not all they can enjoy outdoors as they also have a chic garden area, that has been well maintained and features a number of flora and a stone pathway.

While Martin has been quiet on social media about fatherhood, he told Weekend Magazine this month: ‘Being a new parent is exhilarating but tough, and it’s harder if you’re living it in the public eye.

‘I don’t think I’m being overly private – everyone who needs to know my kid, knows him.’

Earlier this week, a new trailer for Line Of Duty’s finale was released, only serving to heighten speculation around the identity of ‘H’.

Viewers can be certain of an action-packed finale episode complete with a police standoff, the return of balaclava men and the discovery of a written note with THAT ‘definately’ misspelling.

The trailer starts off with Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), who is facing imminent retirement, state: ‘All of these suspicious deaths were orchestrated by one officer in particular, H. The fourth man.’

Coming back: Line Of Duty will be back on Sunday night and fans are eager to find out whether AC-12 will finally crack the case on the elusive H

Hastings’ powerful words went alongside flashbacks of the deaths of solicitor Jimmy Lakewell, police officer Lisa Patel, journalist Gail Vella and former Detective Inspector Marcus Thurwell- whom fans believe is still alive.

The trailer then shows acting Superintendent Jo Davidson (Kelly MacDonald) leaving the high-security prison in handcuffs, only to end up alone in a van with a corrupt prison officer who previously injured Lindsay Denton in series three.

Jo says: ‘What’s going on?’, before the camera flashes a sinister look from the prison officer.

A handwritten note is also teased in the trailer, with the word definite misspelt to mirror what viewers have seen previously.

A huge clue of the identity of H began to emerge in series five, when the OCG communicated with ‘H’ through a computer.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice H spelling definitely as ‘definately’, and this misspelling has been repeated in subsequent episodes.

Will this handwritten report be the breakthrough AC-12 need to close in on ‘the fourth man’?

The Superintendent briefs DI Kate Fleming, DI Steve Arnott and DC Chloe Bishop as they arrive at the scene.

Hastings says: ‘AFO’s will secure the suspect down’, while the words ‘Every investigation has led to this… H’.

And it only gets more dramatic as balaclava men jump out of vehicles armed with guns themselves.

Kate opens the police van, brandishes her gun and shouts: ‘armed police’ before the screen fades to black.

Clue: A handwritten note is also teased in the trailer, with the word definite misspelt to mirror what viewers have seen previously- will this be the clue AC-12 needs?
