Elton and Bernie have known each other since 1967 when they both responded to an advertisement from Liberty Records who were appealing for new songwriters.
The pair ended up collaborating and have worked together on most Elton’s music ever since.
The lyrics for hits such as Rocket Man, Crocodile Rock, Tiny Dancer and Candle In The Wind were all written by Bernie.
The duo were later inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.
It comes after Elton and his husband David were spotted out having dinner with Sharon Osbourne earlier this month.
