A mother has been charged with murdering her ten-year-old son who lived with severe physical and mental disabilities.
Pembe Mehmetaliogullari, 47, from Hove, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of her son Mustafa.
The ten-year-old, who lived with severe physical and mental disabilities, died at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton just three days after he was admitted for treatment in September 2018.

A postmortem and subsequent toxicology examination established that the child’s death was due to administration of non-prescribed medication, Sussex Police said.
It comes after a complex investigation by the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit.
On Saturday, Mehmetaliogullari was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday.
Mustafa and his mother had been living in Sedlescombe, East Sussex, prior to his admission to hospital.
