A TikTok chef known for her bizarre and over-the-top recipes has one again stunned viewers by making a deep-fried ramen-crusted grilled cheese sandwich — stuffed with 12 slices of cheese.

Sylvia Ferreira, from California, has gone viral with recipes for things like crispy chicken donuts and chocolate strawberry cheesecake pasta.

For one recent dish, Ferreira went the comfort food route by building a cheese sandwich overflowing with three kinds of cheese — which she battered, crusted with broken ramen pieces, and deep fried.

But while she and her partner, Dan Shaba, try the dish on camera and appear thrilled with the results, commenters are by and large horrified by the elaborate concoction.

Ferreira starts the recipe with a pan, putting a piece of white bread in the center.

She then loads it up with 12 slices of cheese, a mix of what looks like cheddar, colby jack, and pepper jack.

That’s topped with another slice of white bread.

Next, she pulls out two round of uncooked Kimchi Noodle Soup ramen noodles, puts them in a plastic bag, and mashes them up to pieces, which she pours into a bowl.

Setting that aside, she mixes up a batter with a half a cup of milk, a half a cup of water, one cup of flour, and one egg, and submerges the 12-cheese-slice sandwich in the gooey mixture.

That battered sandwich is then placed in the bowl of ramen noodle pieces, which coats the outside.

Ferreira then deep fries the entire thing until the ramen crust on the outside browns and the melted cheese begins to leak out the sides.

‘Don’t want it to go too long, because we don’t want it to burn,’ she says.

Finally, she transfers it to a large dish and uses a large knife to cut through the sandwich, diagonally.

When she pulls the two halves apart, half of the cheese spills out from the middle in a melted heap.

‘This is definitely the best thing I’ve ever had in my life,’ Ferreira says. ‘That’s the crispiest, crunchiest, cheesiest, amazingest thing ever’

‘Amazing,’ she says. ‘That smells so good.’

Her partner, who has been watching the whole time, calls them ‘heart-shaped heart attacks’ before taking a bite.

‘This is definitely the best thing I’ve ever had in my life,’ Ferreira says. ‘That’s the crispiest, crunchiest, cheesiest, amazingest thing ever.’

‘I hate to admit it, but it’s actually pretty good,’ Shaba adds.

Viewers, though, are less convinced. Though the video has been viewed 666,000 times, commenters have said they are ‘nauseous just looking at this.’

TikTok viewers have branded the dish ‘sickening’, with one claiming they were ‘about to throw up’ after watching the video

‘No, literally no,’ wrote one.

‘I’m crying because of this. Literally there’s thing thing called bread crumbs instead of ramen,’ wrote another.

Others said it was ‘completely insane,’ with one writing: ‘Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.’

A few commenters, though, said they thought it looked ‘kinda good.’
