It’s one of the most glamorous occasions in the British social calendar.

And Georgia Toffolo swigged champagne on Tuesday whilst bemoaning her ‘horrific’ sweat patches as she lead the stars for the first race day at Royal Ascot at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Despite appearing worse for wear in an Instagram video, the former Made In Chelsea star, 26, nevertheless looked elegant as she attended the star-studded event with a host of celebrities such as GMB presenter Charlotte Hawkins, Simon Cowell, his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and his ex, Sinitta.

Toff, who is also a regular segment host on Good Morning Britain, looked stunning in a pale blue dress with puff sleeves as she posed for snaps at the annual horse meet.

The TV personality teamed her chic dress, which also boasted a large decorative bow, with a floral fascinator and a cream bag, which was no doubt full of essentials for her day out.

Toff opted for a glamorous coat of make-up and wore her hair up, while boosting her petite frame with a pair of heels which featured a bejewelled bow on the front.

Speaking from the comfort of her private box at the racecourse, she flashed her sweat patches as she discussed her bespoke outfit.

The reality star said: ‘It’s a “Try It On With Toff” Ascot special, I’ve got a glass of champers, the dress has already been taken apart, I’ve got horrific sweat patches, I’ve already got my cheap Zara shoes on, £30, brought about five years ago.’

She proceeded to spill champagne on her spare shoes- which she revealed were too big –  as she continued talking through her race day look.

‘So this is a rented bag from By Rotation. My dress is being made in partnership with Hannah Sophia,’ she said as she clumsily adjusted her fallen shoulder sleeve. ‘And I’ve got sticky tape everywhere so my t**s don’t fall out. Wait a minute, I’m a bit tired. Jesus Christ I’ve just seen a horse!’

Toff fixed her belt onto her garment as she said: ‘So that’s my beautiful bow, how do I look?’

Captioning the upload to social media, she said: ‘Ascot outfit of the day I might have had a sherbet [clinking champagne glasses and crying laughing face emoji].’

Elsewhere at the event, presenter Charlotte, 46, looked incredible in the midi number which featured a pop of yellow around the neckline and cinched her in at the waist.

Earlier this month, The Telegraph reported the Queen, 95, – an avid horse racing fan – would not attend this year’s Ascot because of ongoing restrictions.

Ascot had been planning for an attendance of 4,000 a day. The new figure will allow all those who rolled over 2020 bookings to be accommodated with a ‘material but not significant’ number of tickets left over, according to a track spokesperson.

The number of spectators will be well below the usual attendance of over 300,000 over the five days but the increased number was welcomed by Frankie Dettori, whose 73 royal meeting victories have only been bettered by Lester Piggott (116).

Dettori, who was leading rider at the royal meeting for the seventh time last year, said: ‘There’s nothing better than Royal Ascot with people. I know it’s not 60,000 (a day) but it’s better than what we thought.

‘Last year I was leading rider at Royal Ascot and won three Group Ones, including the Gold Cup. To have nobody there to see any of that, it was like someone had cut my arm off.

‘Those are the biggest races we’ve got here and I won them in front of empty grandstands. It goes without saying it wasn’t the same.’

Visitors to the Royal and Queen Anne enclosures have to abide by a strict dress code, which does not allow bare midriffs or strapless dresses, but for guests in the Windsor and other enclosures the rules are more relaxed.

With the clue in the name, Royal Ascot is hugely popular with the monarchy and Her Majesty is usually a regular at the event. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, she had attended every year since ascending the throne.

Last year, dedicated Royal Ascot showed off their finest frocks and fascinators while celebrating the fourth day of the racing meet at home.

Even the most committed fans were left watching jockeys riding, wearing face masks, broadcast virtually.

Among the racing enthusiasts who stayed at home was the Queen, who has been forced to watch the event from Windsor Castle for the first time in her 68-year reign.

In an emotional note shared last year, Her Majesty praised the ‘valiant’ efforts of organisers and said she is sure it will still be the ‘highlight’ of the racing calendar, despite the ‘different’ circumstances.
