EuroMillions winner Gareth Bull has won a restraining order against his former lover, Donna Desporte, who wrote a tell-all book about their affair

A lottery winner who scooped £41million has taken out a restraining order against a woman he once had an affair with who then wrote a tell-all book.

Gareth Bull was granted the order following a High Court battle to silence Tenerife bar owner Donna Desporte, 48.

The pair met in October 2016 while Mr Bull was on holiday on the Spanish island, before embarking on a nine-month affair.

He was still married to his wife Catherine when he met Miss Desporte, four years after winning £41million on the EuroMillions.

After their fling came to an end, Miss Desporte penned a memoir about their time together, Google Me, No Lies, which had been the subject of previous court hearings, The Mirror reports.

The book’s title was reference to the alleged conversation that played out between them when they first met.

Miss Desporte claimed Mr Bull told her to ‘Google’ him after chatting to her in a bar.

She recalled how Mr Bull spent thousands taking his mistress to star-studded events with his wife reportedly discovering their illicit relationship after seeing them in the background of a televised Anthony Joshua boxing match in 2017.

He and his wife separated fully that year.

In the latest ruling, Mr Justice Julian Knowles concluded that litigation between the pair had become so ‘convoluted’ that even legal representatives struggled to keep track of every application or challenge made, The Mirror reports.

He said: ‘Donna Desporte has persistently made without merit applications in a number of actions over an extended period.

‘They have been certified as totally without merit at every level from the Master up to the Court of Appeal.

‘These totally meritless applications have occupied a large amount of court time and resources, as well as Gareth Bull’s resources, over a number of years.’

The permanent injunction restrains publication of 36 passages from the book and four photographs taken by Mr Bull ‘privately during their relationship’.

Ms Desporte argued that she had a right to give her side of the story and refute allegations she was a ‘whore and a gold digger’, but the judge ruled there was no legal public interest in her writing about their sexual relationship.
