Los Angeles
Ford and Buckley most recently lived in an estate in Los Angeles’ Holmby Hills neighborhood after they purchased the property – which once belonged to late socialite Betsy Bloomingdale – for $38.75million in 2016.
According to Mansion Global, Ford secured a ‘respected discount’ on the 10,000-square-foot, which had originally been listed for $55million.
The house features nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a library, an outdoor living room, a pool house, tennis court and a rose garden.
It also has several formal and informal entertaining spaces where Bloomingdale and her husband, Alfred Bloomingdale, heir to the Bloomingdale’s department store fortune, hosted several parties for Hollywood’s elite.
The Bloomingdales bought the property in the 1950s and hired celebrity decorator Billy Haines to transform the home from a late-1920s Spanish colonial into a ‘glamorous Hollywood Regency-style affair’.

Ford, 60, originally met Buckley, 72, at a New York fashion show in 1986. They were partners for over three decades and officially wed in 2014 shortly after same-sex marriage was legalized in the U.S.
The couple also shares an eight-year-old son, Alexander John ‘Jack’ Buckley Ford.
Buckley passed away of natural causes on Sunday night after battling prolonged illness.
Ford announced his death in a statement reading: ‘It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the death of his beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Buckley.
‘Richard passed away peacefully at their home in Los Angeles last night with Tom and their son Jack by his side. He died of natural causes after a long illness.’
Specific details surrounding Buckley’s death have not yet been released.
However, it is known that the journalist has faced multiple health battles. In 1989, just three years after the couple met, Buckley was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent surgery.
Despite being told it could be fatal, he pulled through and the pair shared a love-filled life together for over three decades.
