A mother has proudly revealed that she made her own ‘udder butter’ out of her breast milk and fed it to her husband.
Laura Hall, who is believed to be from the US, stunned TikTok viewers when she shared a video of her made-from-scratch butter, calling the one-of-a-kind spread her ‘crowning achievement’ in the caption.
‘I’ve done it — I’ve made butter out of my breast milk,’ she said, panning the camera down to show off her creation. ‘I don’t know if I’ve ever been more proud.’

Say what? Laura Hall, who is believed to be from the US, debuted the butter she made out of her breast milk in a TikTok video
Proud: The mom couldn’t stop laughing as she bragged about the fruits of her labor, which she dubbed her ‘udder butter’
Going viral: The video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times and has received thousands of comments, though reactions were mixed
Hall couldn’t stop laughing as she bragged about the fruits of her labor, saying: ‘There’s my butter — my butter, my udder butter.’
The video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times and has received thousands of comments, though reactions were mixed.
‘That’s probably some of the healthiest butter on the planet!’ one person wrote, while another asked: ‘Can you teach us?’
‘I just don’t know if I’m envious or not,’ someone else admitted.
A few people even suggested she try making ‘cheese’ next time, but others were not a fan of her udder butter.
No thanks: In a follow-up video, she and her husband tried the butter on toast. She gagged after she tasted it, saying it ‘kind of tastes like throw-up’
Not bad: However, her supportive partner gave it a ‘5 out of 10’ and claimed he would eat the whole piece of toast if he was hungry
Step one: In a tutorial video, Hall demonstrated how to make the udder butter. She started by leaving her breast milk out until the fat separated and the cream rose to the top of the bottle
Next step: Hall then skimmed off the cream and put it in a glass measuring cup
Almost done: The mom used an electric whisk to beat the cream until it reached the right consistency
‘I’m a mom and I still gagged,’ one woman wrote, while another insisted: ‘Girl you crossed a line.’
In a follow-up video, Hall and her husband put her butter to the test by spreading it on toast and eating it on camera.
The mom made a face and gagging noise after her first bite, saying: ‘It doesn’t taste great.’ But her supportive partner gave it a ‘5 out of 10’ and claimed he would eat the whole piece — if he was hungry.
‘To me, it tastes like, you know, when you burp and it kind of tastes like throw-up,’ she admitted, but commenters insisted she just needed to add a little salt to it.
By popular request, Hall went on to film an udder butter tutorial in which she demonstrated how to turn her freshly pumped breast milk into a creamy spread.
Pretty much read: She stopped mixing the breast milk when it started to clump
Just right: When the butter was complete, she strained the solids and squeezed out any excess liquid before rinsing it off in the sink
New recipe: Hall later used her breast milk to whip up ice cream for her young daughter
She started by leaving the milk out until the fat separated and the cream rose to the top of the container.
Hall then skimmed off the cream and churned it with an electric whisk until it reached the right consistency.
When the butter was complete, she strained the solids and squeezed out any excess liquid before rinsing it off in the sink.
Hall later took on another recipe, this time trying breast milk ice cream, which her three-year-old ‘approved.’
‘Welcome to my show where I try foods I made from milk my body produced,’ she captioned one of the videos.
