The Hollywood A-List descended upon the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, proving that award season still packs a punch when it comes to glamorous red carpet arrivals. 

Stars including Salma Hayek, Lady Gaga, Kerry Washington, Cate Blanchett and more all went mask-free at the glitzy event where they showed off their stunning couture gowns. 

Gaga, who is famous for her dramatic grand entrances, sauntered into the event rocking a floor-length white Georgio Armani gown with a jewel entrusted neckline.

The 35-year-old Oscar winner, nominated for her role as as Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, did not disappoint in her timeless look pulled together with matching white graphic eyeliner and diamond jewelry to match. 

To complement her flawless look, the five-foot-one beauty effortlessly strutted around in matching white stilettos that added a few extra inches of height. 

The Bad Romance singer, who has won 12 Grammy Awards, wore her platinum blonde hair in chic loose waves draped over her shoulder and a 1958 Tiffany & Co necklace.

While the Academy Awards aren’t mandating vaccination for presenters (just attendees), it’s required for the SAG Awards, which are voted on by the Hollywood actors´ guild SAG-AFTRA. One actor in the cast of the Paramount series Yellowstone, Forrie J. Smith, has said he won’t attend because he isn’t vaccinated.

The leading Oscar nominee, Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, failed to land a best ensemble nominations but three of its actors – Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst and Kodi Smit-McPhee – are up for individual awards.

Winning best ensemble doesn’t automatically make a movie the Oscar favorite, but actors hold the largest sway because they constitute the largest percentage of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Last year, the actors chose Aaron Sorkin’s 1960s courtroom drama The Trial of the Chicago 7, while best picture at the Oscars went to Nomadland. The year before, SAG´s pick of Parasite presaged the Oscar winner.

In the television categories, Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso comes in with a leading five nominations, closely trailed by HBO’s Succession, Apple’s The Morning Show and Netflix’s much-watched Squid Game – all of which are up for four awards.

The accolades are given out by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. 

Founded in 1952, the awards recognize outstanding performances in movie and prime time television.
